2015 was my first time to really make it to the 'Prairies'. After crossing the border from Montana and into Saskatchewan CA one becomes very aware of how really remote it still is. We ran on only a portion of Travis and Jenny Gellhaus's Sagebrush Ranch and their generous neighbors cattle ranch (60,000+ acres). Birds were found on literally every brace for two weeks! It is the only place I have seen a Bull Moose while running a bird dog from a horse and both white tail and mule deer in the same 5 acre field. It was also the first time any of my dogs had seen 'Speed Goats' - One young setter gave a hearty chase until he found out what real speed was! This is the most beautiful country and a birddog trainers paradise. I will go back for as long as I am able - and welcome.
